The sketch of ''Yerevan Etudes'' by Spendiaryan served as a basis for the formation of the first edition cover of this composition.

In 1925 Spendiaryan wrote his last creation, the symphonic work ''Yerevan sketches'' and dedicated it to the symphonic orchestra of the conservatory.
During this years the composer still worked on his masterpiece the opera Almast, but did not manage to complete the instrumentation of the last act. It finished Maximilian Steinberg who also was N. Rimski-Korsakov's student.
In 1926 the 25th anniversary of Al. Spendiaryan’s creative activity was greatly celebrated not only in Armenia but also in the entire territory of Soviet Union. The composer was the first in Armenia who was awarded the title of the People's Artist of Soviet Armenia and the title of the Professor of Yerevan Conservatory.
