Children Masters
On April 27, the Alexander Spendiaryan House-Museum welcomed the next participant in its “Children-Masters” project—Elizmarie Shakhanumyan, a student of the vocal department at the Mikayel Maluntsyan Art School.
Elizmarie has been studying vocal performance since early childhood, initially under the guidance of Hasmik Asatryan. Since 2021, she has continued her studies with Associate Professor Anna Poghosyan at the Yerevan State Conservatory. In addition to her vocal training, Elizmarie also plays the qanun, studying with Anahit Mkrtchyan, and holds a deep affection for the instrument.
The concert-meeting featured works by J. Althouse, C. Franck, W. A. Mozart, F. Obradors, H. Perperyan, M. Sandoval, Sayat-Nova, and A. Valesyan. Elizmarie was accompanied by Margarit Sargsyan and Margarita Grigoryan. A laureate of both national and international competitions, Elizmarie is currently preparing for new performances and contests.
At the conclusion of the event, Anahit Melkonyan, Director of the M. Maluntsyan Art School, expressed her gratitude and affirmed the continuation of the fruitful collaboration with the museum. The next event in the “Children-Masters” series will also feature a student from the same school.
The concert was hosted by Inessa Khachatryan, Senior Researcher at the A. Spendiaryan House-Museum.
