"The master of song and act": matinee dedicated to the memory of Vladilen Balyan
An event entitled "The master of song and act" dedicated to the 98th birth anniversary of the famous Armenian composer, music and public figure, RA People's Artist, Honorary citizen of Gyumri and Yerevan Vladilen Balyan took place in Alexander Spendiaryan House-museum on April 29, 2022.
This year V. Balyan, the founding Director of the Spendiaryan House-museum didn't attend in person his birthday anniversary for the first time.
The guests of the event were the members of the composer's family, notable musicians and cultural figures. The director of the Spendiaryan House-museum Marine Otaryan, YSC professors Armen Budaghyan and Alina Pahlevanyan, favorite singer Ruben Matevosyan, pianist Margarit Sargsyan and the composer's sun, architect Karen Balyan shared their memories about the cooperation and friendship with the great artist and person.
The documentary video "The master of song and act" made by the researcher of the Spendiaryan House-museum Inessa Khachatryan was screened on matinee. The video included unique materials connected with V. Balyan from the archive of the museum.
The famous and rarely performed romances written by Maestro were presented at the concert. The participants were vocal soloists Diana Harutyunyan (soprano) and Arsen Gevorgyan (baritone), piano accompanist - the professor of the YSC after Komitas - Margarit Sargsyan.
In the end of the matinee the power suddenly went out, and the guests sang Maestro's famous song "Ampets, korav lusynkan" with one voice in the darkened hall, under the lights of mobile telephones.
