Five romances in the language of love
On April 18, within the framework of Francophonie days in Armenia, A. Alexander Spendiaryan took place in Spendiaryan's house-museum. The concert-speech entitled "five romances in the language of love".
At the concert, for the first time, five romances from Alexander Spendiaryan's musical legacy were performed in French, with a high-quality translation by songwriter-performer Lilit Bleyan. The story of the creation of the selected songs "Oh rose", "The night is the same", "Slowly evening falls", "Why - I don't know" and "I am charmed by your beauty" was presented by Astghik Harutyunyan, the chief curator of Alexander Spendiaryan House-Museum. Spendiaryan songwriting was presented to the audience for the first time in French by Anna Poghosyan (soprano), professor of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, Margarit Sargsyan (piano), Varduhi Toroyan (soprano), Narek Vardanyan (baritone), Katarine Hovsepyan (piano) and Ivane Yesayan (violin).
Composer Tirgan Mansuryan, singer Hasmik Papyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Lucas Rosenkratz graced the concert-speech with their presence.
Marine Otaryan presented to the honorable ambassador the album book with CD "Alexander Spendiaryan - 150" published by the house-museum under the auspices of UNESCO.
At the end of the event, according to the tradition of Spendiaryans' hospitable hearth, the guests were served cocoa made according to Spendiaryan's recipe.
