The special event organized by the cooperation of Komitas Museum-Institute and Spendiaryan House-museum dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Komitas took place at 16:00 p. m. in December 16th, at the Komitas Museum-Institute. First the director and employees of Spendiaryan House-museum visited the Pantheon and bowed flowers on the grave of Komitas. In the frame of the event the Alexander Spendiaryan House-museum officially presented Vardapet’s manuscript letter to Nikoghayos Tigranyan from Holy Echmiatsin to the Komitas Museum-Institute. This letter was gifted to the Spendiaryan museum by Nikoghayos Tigranyan’s relative and friend, musicologist Miqayel Teryan with some other materials in 1981.
Spendiaryan House-museum director Marine Otaryan and Komitas Museum-Institute scientific-worker Gayane Amiraghyan made a speech on the resemblance between the activity and creative process of Komitas and Spendiaryan. During the concert section Hasmik Baghdasaryan (soprano) and Marina Vardanyan (piano) performed several compositions by Komitas and Alexander Spendiaryan.
