Photo Contest “Yerevan Etudes” Preface
Alexander Spendiaryan house-museum is organizing a photography contest entitled “Yerevan Etudes” within the framework of the 150th anniversary of the composer.
In 1925 Spendiaryan wrote his symphonic work “Yerevan Etudes” inspired by Yerevan scenes (Mount Ararat, Zangi gorge), and devoted it to the first symphonic orchestra. Throughout years Yerevan has been a source of inspiration for many artists. The cozy places and attractions of the capital are filled with famous and unknown stories of the city.
Aim of the Contest
“Yerevan Etudes” photography contest can become an opportunity to reinterpret the scenes of Yerevan in a new light.
Contest conditions
- The contest is open to anyone, without age restrictions
- Each entrant can submit up to 5 photographs, or 1 photo series consisting of a maximum of 7 photos.
- Photos must be taken in Yerevan during 2020-2021.
- Submitted photos must be at least 2MB /length of photo -1024-2448 PIXEl/
- Compart should be excluded in the submitted photos
- Photos can be both Architectural and Street photography
- All photos will be considered, and the best will be selected to participate in the exhibition. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the three best photos selected by the jury.
- Photos should be sent to the following email: a.spendiaryan150@gmail.com with “Yerevan Etudes” in the subject line.

Evaluation Criteria
The jury will vote for 3 photos, in which the mood of Yerevan will be expressed the most.
