In the frame of the "Spendiaryan-150" music festival an open-air concert took place on September 5th, 2021 in the yard of the Gyumri Museum of National Architecture and Urban life.

The festival was organized by the initiation of the A. Spendiaryan House-museum, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the RA.

The participants of the concert were famous musicians - pianists Svetlana Navasardyan, Hayk Melikyan, operatic singers Barsegh Tumanyan, Magda Mkrtchyan with piano concertmaster Valery Ayvazyan, along with young musicians that already had won several stages of the world. Among them were Aida Avanesyan, pupil of the Spendiaryan Special Music School; Artyom Ionisyan, Arthur Grigoryan, Elen Khachikyan, Andrey Kurbet, Polina Sharafyan and Davit Babayan - the participants of the "Meknark" Talent Development Target program. Chamber works of the composer were performed during the concert. By the way, two compositions were performed for the first time: "The fortune teller" for piano 4 hands by Spendiaryan and "The dance of Almast" from the opera "Almast", arranged for piano by Hayk Melikyan.

Among the attendees of the concert were Ara Khzmalyan, the deputy of the minister of ESCS of the RA; Michael Archbishop Ajapahian, the Prelate of the Shirak Diocese; Alexan Ter-Minasyan, the Honorary Consulate of Germany in Gyumri; guests from Gyumri, the directors of different educational and cultural institutions of Yerevan and Gyumri, employees and art lovers.

The host of the event was Karen Qocharyan, the announcer of the public TV of Armenia.

The event was opened with the welcome speech of Mr. Khzmalyan. He mentioned that Spendiaryan was not just the founder of the Armenian symphonic music. The composer was the carrier of European values and united Eastern and European musical traditions in his music. In the end of the concert the director of the Spendiaryan House-museum Marine Otaryan thanked the participants and attendees and said that they will soon meet in Gyumri again, this time - in the form of symphonic concert.
