"Spendiaryan's heritage from the European viewpoint"
The series of events "European Heritage Days" took place on September 24-25, 2022. This theme of this year was "Sustainable heritage". In the frame of the Pan-European program a literary-musical matinee entitled "Spendiaryan's heritage from the European viewpoint" took place at the Spendiaryan House-museum on September 24.
The renowned Armenian composer is more famous for his relations with the Russian musicians, but during his lifetime his compositions were successfully performed in Europe as well. Selected episodes from the letters, memories and critical articles of the different European figures were represented during the matinee. The materials completed the rating of Spendiaryan as a person and artist in the European cultural environment. The thematic lecture was represented by the senior researcher of the Spendiaryan House-museum Hasmik Hambaryan.
According to the theme the concert part of the matinee included compositions by Spendiaryan and European composers. The performers were the students of the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas - Eleonora Harutyunyan (soprano), Elen Tadevosyan (flute) with piano accompaniment of Katarine Hovsepyan, and Teresa Markosyan (piano).
The matinee concluded with the speech of the director of the House-museum Marine Otaryan.
