A Tribute to the Memory of the Maestro
On May 7 th, a tribute ceremony was held in the park adjacent to the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet to honor the great figure of Armenian classical music.
An exceptional musical piece resonated at the composer's grave: for the first time in 98 years, Levon Khoja-Eynatyan's "Funeral Song" was performed again. Written in 1928, the piece is dedicated to the memory of his teacher, Alexander Spendiaryan.
We extend our gratitude to the "Vasily Kandinsky" Quartet for this moving performance. Spendiaryan's luminous legacy and vital presence continue to inspire and enrich Armenian culture.
